Therapeutic Recreation Programming

“We are not simply playing games, but learning our place within humanity.”

Who can access these services?

Local schools and other youth-serving organizations who wish to offer therapeutic recreation programming to young people between the ages of 12 - 19 who are being negatively impacted by their own substance use and/or the substance use of others.

How can Therapeutic
Recreation Programming help?

Freedom Quest's Therapeutic Recreation Programming aims to support youth in their efforts to a) experience healthy relationships, b) participate in activities that may have been previously inaccessible to them, c) enjoy physical activity to promote their overall wellness, d) experience alternatives to substance use, and e) learn new skills.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. All of Freedom Quest's services are free.

Where does Freedom Quest's Therapeutic Recreation Programming take place?

It takes place all over the West Kootenay Boundary Region. Youth have had the opportunity to ski Whitewater Ski Resort & Salmo Ski Hill, hike Syringa & Champion Lakes, snowshoe Strawberry Pass & Cottonwood Lake, and overnight at Whatshan Lake Retreat. They have also participated in mountain biking, fat biking, and canoeing.

How do I get in touch with the Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator?

If you are a local youth-serving organization, you can get in touch with the Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator by calling or popping him a text.
