Youth Substance Use and Family Counsellor

Who can access these services?

Young people between the ages of 12 - 19, who are being negatively impacted by their own substance use and who are also struggling in their mental wellness.

Where is the Youth Substance Use and Family Counsellor located?

Our Youth Substance Use and Family Counsellor drives all around the West Kootenay Boundary Region meeting with youth and families who are looking for support.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. All of Freedom Quest's services are free. This service is fully funded by Interior Health.

What will we talk about?

Whatever you want! Young folks and families who meet with Freedom Quest's Youth Substance Use and Family Counsellor often talk about relationships, family, friends, school, work, their mental wellness, physical health, spirituality, experience(s) of trauma, as well as about the substances that are impacting their life.

How do I get in touch with the Youth Substance Use and Family Counsellor?

  • If you are a young person, you can give the Youth Substance Use and Family Counsellor a call or pop them a text.
  • If you are a parent/guardian, you can similarly give the Youth Substance Use and Family Counsellor a call.
  • If you are a professional and would like to refer your client to any of Freedom Quest's services or programs, you can give us a call​ or fill out and fax our referral form.
