Position Summary
The Director of Finance & Facilities oversees all financial operations for the agency as well as facilities management for the head office location. This position ensures fiscal responsibility, operational efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This senior leadership position reports directly to the Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
co-develop the agency’s annual budget in collaboration with the Executive Director
manage annual organizational budget
prepare and present financial reports monthly to the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and others as required
execute accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow management
lead the agency’s annual financial audit process and tax filings
develop and maintain internal controls, financial policies, and related procedures
monitor and ensure financial compliance with government regulations, funder requirements, and accreditation standards
execute payroll processing and benefits administration
enroll/update employees in online systems (e.g., Payworks, Sage, Benefits by Design)
execute other bookkeeping duties (e.g., recording financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, bank reconciliation)
other duties as required
Facilities Management
oversee facility-related contracts, vendors, and service providers (e.g., snow removal, janitorial, window washing, carpet cleaners, fire inspectors, and landscapers)
assess the facility’s current needs and makes recommendations for short-term and long-term repair and replacement
seeks grants, no-interest loans, and other funding opportunities for facility greening initiatives (e.g., solar solutions)
oversee capital improvement projects, repairs, and renovations in collaboration with the Executive Director
other duties as required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field (ASSET)
5-7 years of progressively responsible financial management experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role (ASSET)
Prior experience in nonprofit financial management (ASSET)
Facility management experience (ASSET)
Experience working for an agency that relies heavily on technology (ASSET)
Willingness to engage in life-long learning and self-reflexivity practices to understand Indigenous worldviews and the important role of culture in providing social service programming. (REQUIRED)
Recognition that colonization continues to impact the health and wellness of Indigenous Peoples. This includes recognizing the role of trauma. (REQUIRED)
